Ivy takes in Dolemeck Night, the missing son of a famous botanist, and a child she once rescued during the Earthquake many years ago. She realizes that her toxins will kill him with prolonged exposure. So she decides that in order to keep Dolemeck with her, he must undergo the same experiments that she did.

Already highly traumatized, Ivy plays to Dolemeck's need of security and shelter. She offers to take care of him, if he can take care of her plants. The only way to do that, is for him to become something like her. Seeing no way out, Dolemeck has no choice but to agree to the process, fearing he will die on the streets of Gotham if he leaves Ivy's home.

His transformation is creepy, frightening, and adds to even more trauma for the young man. Little does he know that Ivy has altered the process to keep his body from aging, so he would never look like a grown man, and therefore something she could never hate. A pet she can keep forever...

Days after the process, Dolemeck awakes. He feels awful, his body aches, and his eyes have changed from green to fuchsia. His skin remains a sickening pale color, and his remains black as night. When Ivy checks on him to see how he is fairing, Dolemeck suddenly latches on to her and cries, referring to Ivy as "Mummy" (The British term for Mommy). This strikes a cord with Ivy, as she was said to be barren and could never have her own children. Now... she not only had a care taker for her plants, but a new "son" to watch over.

Dolemeck sat by the grave of his parents and just stared at the flowers. They were blooming quite beautiful, looking unlike any flowers he had ever seen before. It was a shame, really. If they were still alive, they could admire the work he had done to care for them. Maybe they were gazing upon their beauty from heaven?

He had managed to find a bag of plant food in the trash. Not just any plant food, but the plant food his Father's company had made. Stores were getting rid of their "Greening Night" products with heavy discounts or just throwing them away. It pained the young man, as that was his father's legacy. And there it was, in the trash. All thanks to his brother's greed. How could he?

Sprinkling the plant food on the flowers, he looked up at the sky. It was nearly dusk, and he would more than likely be kicked out of the cemetery by the groundskeeper in an hour or so. The thoughts of where he was going to go for the night sprang into his head. He could sleep in the church again, or take his chances at the shelter? Sleeping by a dumpster was not a good idea, as rumors of Joker's crew running about were on the streets.

It was going to be a rough evening, he could feel it.

How do you see this character being used: I do see him being used quite frequently in Gotham, and he would be a main for myself. He would be used for Batman and Poison Ivy stories.

Name: Leon Vaust

Codename: The Caretaker

Home: Currently the slums of Gotham City

Appearance: Caucasian (very pale), shoulder length black hair, unusually bright green eyes. Stands at 5' 6", weighs one hundred and thirty five pounds.

Age: 15

Family: Anderson Vaust (Father, deceased), Marion Vaust (Mother, deceased), Anderson Vaust the second (Elder brother, Alive).

Background:

Leon was the youngest child of Marion and Anderson Vaust. He grew up around private schools, horseback ridding competitions, and the creme de le creme of Gotham's elite. His father was a brilliant botanist, creating Gotham's favorite "green" company, "Greening Night". They made all natural products, electric cars, and fertilizers for plants.

At age nine, Leon lost his mother to a rare illness. This caused his father to work harder, believing her death was the result of chemicals being used to preserve foods. For another five years, he would work hard to try and create a "green" preserver for food to use. This belief let to him spending thousands, close to millions of the fortune he had amassed for years.

Leon's elder brother, Anderson the Second, viewed this venture as a money pit that would suck the family fortune dry. He did not wish to lose the life he had come to enjoy, so he arranged to have his father killed at their home, while he was away for a trip at Gotham University. It was supposed to look like a break-in... and no one else was supposed to be at home.

As the thugs broke into the Vaust's mansion, they were not expecting Leon to be home. He was supposed to be at a school dance, but decided to stay home after being unable to find a date. This was a near fatal mistake for the young man. He witnessed his father's brutal murder at the hands of these thugs. When it was discovered he was home, the thugs turned on him, leaving him with a scar to the side of his face before he managed to escape.

With Anderson Vaust dead, Anderson the second took control of the company and changed it from a "green" company to a chemical company. Everything his father hated, Anderson the second did. The "Greening Night" company was gone, and the money was rolling in. To cover his tracks, he made speeches and pleas for his brother's "safe" return, knowing he would never come back... he would never come home knowing the power he had, now.

For a year now, Leon has lived on the streets and in the slums of Gotham City. He often is seen at his parent's grave-site, caring for flowers that had been planted all around. It is said he is unable to speak anymore, due to the trauma of the his Father's murder.
